Soccer Opening Day Kicks 2023
Our Hanover K of C was well received early Sunday afternoon at Hanover Soccer Club's Opening Day festivities. The weather was exhilarating!
Many thanks to R.C. Zinn, Eric Bonds, Gene Taylor, and Ken Zinn for joining me to set up our stand, show off our K of C and its dedication to our community.
Together with the Hanover Kiwanis Club at our stand, we handed out soccer crossword puzzles and word searches, prizes, treats and cheered on the teams!

K OF C DONATES LENTEN DINNERS
As lenten dinners were canceled due to the coronavirus, Knights from Hanover Council 871 and San Jose Council 19069 combined efforts to prepare and deliver 40 pounds of haddock, 3 trays of fried shrimp (enough shrimp to serve 100), french fries, apple sauce and toiletries to the Hanover Area Council of Churches. K of C Free Throw Championship
I would like to thank the cast and crew of our 2020 K of C Hanover Council 871 Free Throw Championship who helped promote the event and assist last night at St. Joseph Gym. We had 34 participants compete in the girls and boys 9-14 age groups. attached are some pics.

The Hanover Knights of Columbus, Council 871 recently held their 10th annual Soccer Challenge for area youth at the Utz Soccer Fields. Champions include from left: Brody Miller, age 9, Brooklynn Adams, age 9, Parker Cox, age 10, and Camryn Miller, age 11. Winners will now compete at the PA K of C Regional and State level competitions to be held in Carlisle.
K of C Sponsors Delone Dash. Hanover Council 871 helped make the inaugural Delone Dash a huge success! The event, held at Codorus State Park in June, raised almost $2000 dollars for the Delone Athletic Association. K of C Restoring Pavilion. Knights from Hanover Council 871 built the picnic pavilion at St. Joseph’s in the late 1970’s. They are in the process of making improvements and restorations of the roof, siding, tables and surrounding areas. Any knights or parishioners interested in helping with the project are invited to join us for a workday on Saturday, September 1st from 8-11 a.m. or on Monday, Labor Day from 8-11 a.m. Contact Will Smith at 717-688-5840 with any questions.

With the generous support of St. Joseph Parish, parishioners and
others, Hanover Council #871 collected approximately $6,000 in
the 2017 Baby Bottle Collection conducted between Mother’s
Day and Father’s Day. The Council made donations to the following
Pro-Life organizations with the funds: 1) Tender Care
(Hanover)-$1500; 2) Undefeated Courage-$2500; 3) Lourdes
House-$500; 4) Rachel’s House-$500; 5) Gabriel Project-$500;
6) March for Life Bus-$300.
Our 2018 K of C Baby Bottle Campaign is scheduled for Mother’s
Day, Sunday, May 13th to Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17th.

Friday evening, Jan. 12, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. (snow date is Friday, January 26th)
The Hanover Knights of Columbus are sponsoring their annual K of C Free Throw Championship for boys and girls ages 9-14, to be held Friday evening, January 12, 2018 at St. Joseph Gym on Grandview Road in Hanover. Doors open at 5:30 pm for warm-ups and registration; competition by age group begins at 6:00 pm. Winners receive awards and will continue on to district, regional, and state level competitions. K of C Soccer Challenge Champions The 8th annual K of C Soccer Challenge was held recently at the Utz Soccer Fields in Hanover. Youth chairman Dave Zinn stands with the winners who are from left, Age 9 - Avery Lincoln and Ethan Hemling, Age 10 - Maci Shaffer and Braydon Cortina, and Age 12 - Bailey Shehan and Landon Salois. Local winners advance to district, regional & state competitions.

2 State Soccer Champions and 2nd place!!!
We have 2 state Soccer Champions and one who came in 2nd place!!!
Camryn Miller, 9 and Brooke Whiteleather, 12 both won their age divisions this past weekend at State College and Alexis Torsella, 10 came in 2nd-Great kids-see attachment!
We will have a reception for our three champions and their families at our K of C home on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 6:30.
We will also have our PA State Program Director, Steve Rickrode and his wife Carol in attendance that evening.
We hope you can all make it to this recognition. Please mark your calendars and pass the word around. Dress is casual and light refreshments and cake will be available. I'll order the cake.

The Hanover Knights of Columbus recently held their annual K of C Soccer Challenge, a penalty kick competition for boys and girls at Utz Soccer Field.
