Marc and Hope Heppding are members of St. Joseph's Parish in Hanover,
where they attend weekly mass. They are active in council functions and
parish activities as well as community organizations. Since becoming a
Knight, Marc has been very active in our council. Marc has volunteered this
past year for our annual Apple Harvest event, the monthly Pancake Breakfasts,
the Parish Picnic Pavilion cleanup, as well as our Friday Lenten Dinners.
Marc is currently assisting our parish by working on support and documentation of St. Joseph's parish cemetery. Hope has been involved in bible
study sessions as a participant and a facilitator, she has volunteered
her time in the past for food banks for the poor, and the
St.Vincent De Paul society. She has attended Catholic Women's
retreats and made a parish trip to Medjugorje. Marc and Hope
frequently visit Our Lady of Lourdes National Shrine at Mount
Saint Mary's University in Emmitsburg. Marc felt after his retirement
from MedStar Health that he wanted to give more of
his time to serve others. He felt the Knights was the right fit for
him. We are fortunate to have him as a fellow Brother of our
council. The Catholic faith is a major part of Mark and Hope's
life. They have three sons who are now in their 30’s - Eric,
Kevin and Marc, Jr. The Heppding Family is a fine example for
our Council and Parish, and most deserving of this award.
