Hanover K of C Family of the Month
The family of Scott and Stacey White
Scott and Stacey White and their four sons Scott Jr., Garrett, Nicholas and Raymond have been quite active in their church and community for many years. Scott recently joined the Knights of Columbus with their first online Exemplification. Scott has coached both baseball and soccer teams for the boys over the past 18 years. Stacey serves as St. Joseph Coordinator of Religious Education. As a family, they have helped plan, organize, set up, run, and clean up St. Joseph Vacation Bible School in July for the past 14 years! With the planning starting in February, VBS is a large part of their life. Scott and Stacey have raised money for MDA thru Stacey’s real estate office. Their entire family has helped with the Hanover Area Council of Churches for many years, preparing serving and cleaning up meals for the homeless of Hanover. Their family frequently volunteers and participates in fundraising activities at Guthrie Memorial Library in Hanover. Their oldest son, “Scotty” volunteered as a Teachers Aide in the School of Religious Instruction as well as serving as an altar server and usher at church. Scotty has volunteered at a local retirement home and taken time to recite the rosary with their residents. Now married, Scotty and his wife Elaina have joined and become active in the Catholic church near their new home. Their son Garrett, who is also a Knight, has helped as Teacher’s Aide and Catechist with Stacey. Garrett created a club at his high school and raised money for the Ronald McDonald House. While in high school, Garrett organized the first ever Christian Awareness Week as well as meeting at the school’s flagpole to pray with other students. Garrett is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Hanover and serves on their Board of Directors. Even with all their service activities, the White family has found ways to remain very close, attending holy Mass together each week, Stations of the Cross during Lent and occasionally praying the rosary together at home. We are very pleased and honored to award the Whites as our Family of the Month!
