Vince and Eileen are members of St. Joseph's Parish in Hanover. They attend mass at St. Joseph's on a weekly basis. They are both active in council functions and fundraising events which benefit their parish as well as other community organizations. They have volunteered this past year for our annual Apple Harvest event and our Breakfast with Santa held at St. Joseph's parish social hall. Vince was a substitute math teacher at Monsignor Slade Catholic School and St. Jane Francis school as well. Vince and Eileen are a fine example for our Council and Parish. They are most deserving of this award.

Several Knights and family members traveled to Washington, D.C. on January 18 and participated in the 46th annual March for Life. The event honors the over 60 million babies lost to abortion since Roe v. Wade was decided by the Supreme Court in 1973, and this year’s attendance was one of the largest ever with estimates ranging from 500,000- 600,000. The theme of the March was “Unique from Day One”, which focused on the scientific case that life begins at conception. Among the speakers at the event were Carl Anderson, Supreme Knight of the K of C, Vice-Pres. Mike Pence and his wife Karen, and Dr. Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King, Jr. Vice-President Pence stressed the importance of the attendees continuing to support the repeal of Roe v. Wade despite the opposition of many Americans. It was very uplifting to be with a large Pro-Life gathering. If you have never gone to the March for Life it is well worth the effort.
